I've been getting annoyed by Verizon so I thought I'd check out Amp'd web site to see what they offer. First of all, their web site is hard to figure out because I have to get through all the ghetto-speak or whatever that is. "Like duuuuuuudde this phone is just totally awesome, to the max! Overloaded! Overdosed! Xtreme! Blah blah blah!"
I haven't yet figured out where to find details on a "family share" type of plan. Everything listed appears to be a single phone. The only reference I can find to "share" is this text "Why add just one line? Add more with Amp'd Share Plans (see confirmation page)." And no, that's not a link. It makes me go through the whole procedure of purchasing a phone and a contract, including entering in my personal info and credit card, before it'll tell me what its gonna cost to add another phone. I don't think so!
And then, everything looks at least as expensive (probably more) than Verizon. $7 extra for night/weekends. $10 for text mesaging. Another $5 for just 50 picture messages. Who knows if any apps can be downloaded, can't readily tell.
Looks AWFUL. Makes me want to stick with Verizon. How sad!

Yeah, that makes no sense.
Whenever I run into this problem, I try and talk to a real person. What's my girlfriend doing in your five?

Re: You got to be kidding me!
Despite all of Verizon's problems, I'd much rather deal with them with this Amp'd company. I renewed my contracts with Verizon.

Re: You got to be kidding me!
I did the math, and Amp'd came out a little higher, and that's not even counting my 28% corporate discount I get for using Verizon.

Re: You got to be kidding me!
True.. those corporate discounts are hard to beat.
For anyone else considering Ampd vs Verizon, they shuold note that Ampd has a lower ETF ($150vs $175 on VZW) and for prepaid.. a shorter contract
(18mos vs 24mos).
You would also want to note that Ampd is 500 mins for $30 vs 450 mins @39.99 on VZW. And on Ampd you get streaming live TV and unlimited internet for $10/mo vs. VZW $20/mo (Vcast and mobile web - ** note not full internet on VZW, like you get on Ampd**)
One other little difference, songs cost $1.99 on VZW but only $.99 on Ampd. And a Razr costs $20 more @ VZW than Ampd (if you purchase at BestBuy)
In short, there is a whole bunch more to like about Ampd than VZW

Amp'd has a Corporate deal as well. I personally like the fact that I don't need to have a contract yet I get all the features of postpaid. They are a new company, but I have had Verizon and they SUCK.

Re: You got to be kidding me!
ampd cost 37 dollars a month because most people want nights and weekend minutes and it cost 7 dollars for the nights to start at 7. I think for prepaid they are not bad at all. One thing I have noticed though is that they are pretty hard on the credit checks. You would figure they would want to approve anyone on their service since they are just starting to gain popularity, but I have not found that to be the case. The phones they have a pretty cool.
