Canada....anytime soon???

Hello Everyone!!!
I just wanted to ask if there was any new news on the iPhone in Canada. Is it coming or not? What's happening? Is it gonna be soon or do we have to wait till like next year? If its gonna be too late then my friend is getting it for me from the US.
Plus, another friend of mine said that he was gonna have to sell his iPhone once it comes to Canada and buy the official one. I don't remember the reasoning behind that. Does someone know what he was talking about? Will the people with iPhones from the US have a useless phone after the iPhone arrives in Canada? That would really help me alot!!!

I asked a friend of mine that works at Rogers and he told me it's not happening anytime soon...

And plus, even if it comes to Canada, it will probably be around 600$, a 3 year contract and a data plan needed: so basically, you're better off buying it in the States

Along with the likely very hefty price that Rogers will charge us poor souls for the 'getting-tired-of-waiting-for-it-iPhone', will be the wallet draining data plan that will probably be very expensive since we always seem to pay double whatever is being charged for the same service in the States.

I don't see the phone coming here anytime soon. And I wouldn't be surprised if Asia and/or the UK get it first (although we were second on the release list initially). Nice part is that perhaps they saved a few hundreds of us from compulsive buying on this one...

Ah well, my nice little Moto Razr2 will do me fine for now.
