Hi, Anyone who can help me out here, I would greatly appreciate.
1. Two separate AT&T retail employees have told me that I am eligible to upgrade on March 4, 2008 (next week). Does this mean that I can upgrade through Amazon.com and get, say, a Blackberry 8800 (offered through amazon.com) or a AT&T Tilt and not get penalized by AT&T or have to pay out the remaining 6 months until I've hit 24 months (my Contract started in October of 2006, I believe).
2. If the answer to this is Yes, and I get a Tilt or Blackberry 8800, my goal is to be able to surf the internet off a wi-fi network at my school or at home, and use the phone to make regular calls, with occasional text messaging. I don't care about downloading video, Mp3s, etc., I just want to be able to surf a cell phone web browser for free off a wi-fi network.
With that said, if I sign up with amazon.com for a new 2 year plan and I get, say, a Tilt, can I sign up for the PDA unlimited data package (the lowest package you can get, and must get) at $30/mo, and then call AT&T and cancel this data package. If I do this, and cancel the data package, will I still be able to get online via a wi-fi network but just not be able to get online through 3G?
Also, can you make phone calls through wi-fi like the T-Mobile Backberry 8320? If not, is it worth waiting 6 months until October, when I go to month-to-month, to switch to T-Mobile to get one of these phones.
Thanks for any responses in advance.
