I just tried Brewsky on a Telus CDM8900.
It appears to find my phone on COM6 - at least it shows the port as being open - but none of the functions work:
The "refresh cell list" button shows the the download progress window but it just sits there and does nothing.
The Ringtones tab shows the default "Buddy Holly" MP3 but when I press the "Upload ringtones" button, the upload progress window just sits there and does nothing.
Similarly the Wallpapers tab does not allow me to upload even the default. The "Get Camera Pics" tab does not list the pictures on the camera and the File Browser tab doesn't appear to do anything at all.
A proper HELP function would be really helpful for this software.

Yes, it displays most common image formats, such as: (jpg, bmp, and png) I have not gotten it to recognize GIF files (with Brewsky 8900), but I bet that it is the format used for animations.

(JPG) should be the primary choice since it is usually the most compressed (smallest file size) for high resolution images. (BMP) is probably the least choice since it is a raw Bitmap file (largest file size). I do not know much about (PNG) files or it's compression capability, other than often used in Macromedia and Linux graphic generators to display bar graphs. (such as webstats)

Most graphic programs convert between all of the above formats. I mostly use PaintShop Pro and LViewPro for my conversion and enhancement (cropping and color/brightness correction) If you need a copy of either, I will send the link on my server.

Brewsky 8900 1.01 great for uploading Ring Tones. Like others, I am having problems with uploading Wallpaper. Brewsky reports that the Wallpaper is in phone memory, but does not appear on any menu on the phone. So where did it go, and can we reverse the process?

    Thanks.

Some functions require reboot of the phone or entering the BREW menu.

I get no audio from the downloaded ringtones, I can see it in the media gallery, but no sound! The icon looks like an envelope with a red x on it.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks!

    Brewsky on a Telus CDM8900

Sorry: No progress - I gave up for now.
(I was rather hoping the Brewsky author would come up with some suggestion)

    Tried it

I downloaded brewsky and used it, but my photos are on the phone but i can't find them. And my ringtones are there, but they have no sound? i don't know what to do, i don't understand why they don't work, but the sample of buddy holly works.

Assuming that you have a USB data cable properly connected and working... You must either reboot the phone or select the "Brew" or "Get it now" feature to initialize certain operations. You vaguely described the full extent of your problem, but that seems to be the missing step. It is important to state your carrier when you generate a request. The only certified carriers that brewsky8900 recognizes are: Verizon, Cricket, and Telus.

I don't understand the statement that you cannot find your photos on the phone. If that is truly the case, maybe it would be a good time to read your operations manual. As for downloading camera photos with Brewsky8900, there is a select Tab for choosing "Get Camera Pics". Select a "photo_000x.jpg" file in the right window and click on "Download Photo". It should transfer/copy the file to the left window, which will display files that are in: "C:\Program Files\Brewsky 8900\My Pictures". It is important to note that you need to select the proper phone carrier type when you initialize the software program and choose the correct Com port (Com4 on my computer). Camera photos are stored on the handset in "/camera/photo/" directory.

    can you post the source?

    Hi,

I am going to work on a Linux tool for the
CDM9900. Do you have verizon for service?
I've been doing some reverese engineering
on the phone and it looks like Audiovox stripped
some at commands from the phone. I'd like to verify. Can you post the commands you used to this forum? Or share the soure code?

I am basically modifying gnokii for support for
    the cdm9900.
