To be totally honest with you, I don't know. The USB DIAG option is disabled on the VM version of the 8910 (which I have). The code has been posted a few times before, so i thought you ought to try it, but I'm unsure of the options shown when you get into that mode. All I know is that you can increase the baud rate via that option.
What are the options shown?

When I hit ##7678 I get the RUNTIME DEVMAP menu. There are 2 options. There is diag and data. Under diag the options are NULL PORT, UART MAIN, USB DATA, and USB DIAG. Under data the options are NULL PORT, RS232C, and USB DATA.

Should I change back the diag to the original setting each time I am done transferring? I think it was set to "null port".

Some have claimed it automatically went back to default after they turned off the phone. Not sure, but putting it back to the way it was if it doesn't, is probably a good idea.

I've been using BitPim for the last week or so but it seems to cause problems with my PhotoShop and few other Adobe programs. Anyone else?
Also, BitPim never seem to really close itself when I exit. (perhaps a reinstall is in order?)Jhazon - Online Since 1996

A reinstall wouldn't hurt, but I suspect there's other PC issues at play. Maybe a RAM upgrade is called for.
