hi everyone.... ive got an Audiovox CDM-8910....

i press the power button, and the green light comes on on the front of the phone for like 5 seconds and then goes off........then the little screen on the top of the phone (below the green light) theres a picture of balloons comes on and the keys light up green, and on the screen theres clouds and says Verizon Wireless.........

and then it like freezes up, it doesnt go past tht verizon wireless screen and the only way i can turn it back off is to take the battery out......

does anybody know what could be the problem and maybe how i could fix it?.....thanks

My sisters phone did that.. it's a different phone completely but we tried hooking it up to the charger and when that didn't work we tried using a different cell charger we had... I can't say for sure if it'd fix it and I'm by no means an expert but it's worth a try *shrug*

ok, first off, is there a big difference from using an adapter for a charger and using a charger?....and the ends of the chargers/adapters where all too big, except for the cell phone charger for the car, tht one fit my cell phone, so i cut tht wire and hooked them up to the chargers, i made sure i connected each wire right....now does tht matter, or would it not make it charge or work right?........ok, well i did some testing from most of the charges/adapters i had lying around.......i dont really know what voltage the adapter/charger is supossed to be for tht specific phone since i didnt get it with one cuz i got it used, so i tried a varity of voltage.........below is the list of the chargers/adapters i used and what happened....:

Adapters: (im not really sure if these adapters work or not)
LG - 4.5 volts - (had it plugged in for 30 min) - nothing happened
Aiwa - 5.5 volts - (had it plugged in for 30 min) - nothing happened

Sanyo - 6.0 volts - (Instantly turns on when plugged in/plugged in for 30 min) - didnt fix it
Craig - 6 volts - (Instantly turns on when plugged in/plugged in for 30 min) - didnt fix it

Chargers: (im 100% sure these chargers work)
Nokia - 3.7 volts DC - (Instantly turns on when plugged in/plugged in for 30 min) - didnt fix it

And then the charger i used to charge it the very first time:
(theres no brand name on it) - (dont kno the voltage) - i plugged it in for about approx a couple hours - its a car charger for the cell phone, the end fits perfectly with my phone, so maybe it was made for my model, dont kno for sure

^thats the only car charger i had, all the other adapters/chargers are for house use.....

so i guess using a different charger didnt really work..... :/

personally i dont think its got anything to do with the power, maybe the software is corrupted and cant load?

How long have you had the phone? if it's still under warrenty (sp) you can probably return it and get a new one with no fuss. or if it isn't you should still bring it in to see what they have to say. I'd say that getting signal insurance on your phone would be a smart idea, unless you already have it. It's really not a waste of money if something like this happens again... or something else that makes it so you can't use your phone.
