Hi. I'm 17 and a senior in high school. I'm on prepaid right now, but I spend $35-$40 a month refilling anyway, so I'm planning on getting a plan. I want the individual basic plan with 1000 messaging plan. Do people get Blackberrys without data plans or would I be the only one? I mostly just need it for texting anyway. Does the Curve have Wi-Fi? There's no charge for that right?
Also, there are some small cell phone dealers around my neighborhood that have T-Mobile plans starting at $25. I think the $25 plan has 150 minutes. That plan isn't on the website. Is it legit? Can I go to a T-Mobile store and ask for that plan specifically?
Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: Blackberry Curve with no data plan.
Sure some people buy Blackberries and don't use data plans. But no data plan not texting. So the option would be to get a cheap voice plan and get a texting plan. So for you you'd need to figure out how much you avg on texting each month and pick the text plant that best covers what you do.
$5 for 400 txt
$10 for 1000 txt
$14 for unlimted text
on top of Tmo's lowest $30 voice plan with 300 mins
If the texting you want to do is MSN, AIM, ICQ or Yahoo, then you will have to have a data plan to use them.
Yes the Curve is Wifi capable.
As far as the Wifi useage goes, no data plan or no hotspot calling plan then all calls used on it come out of your plan mins. Mainly what Wifi does or you, it allows you to use Wifi rather than a cell tower, in areas with weak or no cell service. IF you have a wifi calling plan, then all calls made on Wifi do not cost you any plan mins.
Those small dealers are Cell Plan resellers, they can sell TMO plans and often other cell carrier plans at rates that the carriers don't. Best to look at their plans VERY carefully to make sure it is what you think it is. Some of these plans have clauses that makes it really hard to change plans unless you for fill some sort of time limit with the plan (even if a better plan comes along the bext day). And it depends on what the reseller's plan is, to whether TMO can give it to you at the same price.
The Unlimited Blackberry Plan for $20 will cover text, web browsing, email and instant messaging.
