Re: Curve 8330 as modem
The answer is yes!!!
step 1) download sprint smartview Sprint Software Downloads - Smartphones - BlackBerry® Curve 8330
step 2) install the software
step 3) connect the usb cable to your bb curve
step 4) run sprint smartview ( it will take some time to recognize the bb)
step 5) click on the tower directly under where it says sprint on the left hand corner
the program will tell you if you are connected
step 6) open the browser of your choice
there are no extra charges as long as you have a data plan with sprint. I am using my bb as a modem to post this reply and have been using this for months. I was shocked to learn this as I used to be a csr for sprint.

If you go to TetherBerry.com you can buy a program for a low price so you can use your BB8330 as a modem. It even gives you a free week tryout! I tried it and it works great.

Re: Curve 8330 as modem
Wow, are you kidding me? I had Sprint Smartview installed on my computer because my sister paid for the Sprint Mobile Broadband card...which I never could get to work in the areas I needed it to work in! I gave her back the 'card' and uninstalled the Smartview. If I'd know I could use my phone it may have actually done what I needed it to do! Agghh! Thanks for the info! I think I'll reinstall and see if it works! - Dawn

Re: Curve 8330 as modem
Weeeellll, it worked, but it didn't work. It recognized the phone and tried to connect but kept giving an error that the terminal was not responding. I have full data and access capabilities so I'm not sure why it wouldn't work.
