Greetings to all forum members I just joined the forum and bought a blackberry curve 8330 on the Verizon network just yesterday. I spent today working with the phone and really love it. I have two questions which I hope forum members will help to answer
1 the phone has the 4.5.077 OS. I was told that my phone had the 'latest' OS . Is this true or is the 4.5.089 available on verizon phones and if it is what are the new features or advantages
2 when I got my phone home and started looking at my messages I noticed the first message I received was from verizon wireless and was dated oct 28 2008 welcoming me to verizon. Does this mean the phone was previously sold in oct 2008 and that message was to a previous owner and the phone is now being reissued or is it just a generic message previously dated and sent to all new customers. How can I find out if my phone is a reconditioned resale. Thanks much for any help

    Re: New BlackBerry Curve

Welcome to the Blackberry world. Yes, I believe that is the latest version for Verizon. You can google Blackberry OS 4.5 to see all the new features that are part of the 4.5 OS.

As for the initial 'welcome' email from Verizon. NO, you did NOT get an used blackberry. They all come with a Welcome message dated a while back.

    Hope this helps.

It is on my Curve, especially if it's in my jacket pocket. I don't even notice the vibrate most of the time, unless it's on a table/desk. Not as strong as any of my Nokia or Motorola phones. And certainly not as strong as my older phones with batteries that vibrated.

I rarely notice the vibrate. Is there a way to change the frequency?
