For years now I've wanted a bluetooth phone if it can do one simple thing for me. I want to be able to use it as in internet access point, just like the router in my home. I want to pull out my laptop or my PDA and have it "just work," an internet connection I can use to do whatever I want to.
I don't really want to surf the web on the phone itself. I don't want to walk around with a headset permanently stuck on my ear or have it talk to my car. I just want to be able to transfer modest amounts of data through it.
I also don't want to be able to do this all that often, so I don't want to pay for a full-fledged data plan, but I could tolerate $5-10 per month.
Does any US carrier offer a phone/plan combo that lets me do this? This is always what I thought the attraction of bluetooth was, but from my reading this seems either really hard or impossible.
Thanks!

Twenty bucks??....heck....you'd be lucky to find a full data plan for under $30. Also, to answer your question, no, there isn't anybody out there currently who provides what your looking for for the price you are willing to pay....sorry.
