Nextel phone and sim card

If i buy a unlocked nextel phone with a sim card do i have to have a boost sim card or can i use the one i get with the phone to activate the phone? can someone help me?

you cant just buy a sim card for boost can you? or if you can where would you get one?

as for the unlocked nextel pending on what model some models do not need the unlock code rather it will ask you to wait untill you can enter the "Special Code" then all you have to do is turn the phone off and then back on.

6.) Boost SIM cards work in Nextel phones w/o unlocking the phone.
If you want to use a Nextel SIM in a Boost phone, THE BOOST PHONE MUST BE UNLOCKED.

i didnt mean to get anyone in trouble, I was just wondeding about the sim cards, guess ill just buy a phone and take the card out of it and then buy a card later for my gf to use
