I'm currently a Cingular subscriber and have an awful Razr. I'm on a monthly contract that I want to get off of. My 1 year commitment expired last month so now I can ditch Cingular. I only use around 100 minutes a month so I'm thinking a pre-paid plan is the way to go for me.
I want to get one of the military spec Nextel phones such as an i355 or i560 and (hopefully) use Boost with it. I really need a tougher phone as I'm pretty rough on cell phones. I'm hoping it's possible to use these phones with Boost. From what I've read here it looks like I should be able to.
How long are Boost minutes good for before they expire? T-Mobile's are good for a year, which I really like. Does Boost charge a per day use fee like Cingular does for their pre-paid plans? Having to spend a dollar a day would ruin any savings I'd have over a regular contract. Boost has a $30 Premium pre-paid plan that I'm most confused about. The $30 doesn't include any minutes, and the minutes are .10 cents a minute, but is the $30 a monthly charge or a one time only charge?
Sorry for all the questions but I've searched all over the Boost site and these forums and I can't find an answer to these questions.

Re: Completely confused about Boost!
Boost minutes are good for 90 days.
No per day fee for normal use, but there is a per day fee for the Direct Connect (Walkie Talkie) and Web data features if you use those.

The $30 plan would be good for you, and if you text a lot, the unlimited messaging would be definately worth it.

The only places I know that it doesn't really work are like rural arkansas and kansas...a few other places that don't really matter (no offense to those who live there) but not too many people have cell phones there anyway.

Re: Completely confused about Boost!
I like boost, pretty reliable in my area. Um, I never got the $30 prepaid thing, its just like buying a reboost card....But Yea you only have two months to use your minutes and then you have to buy another card. There didn't used to be a dollar a day fee for prepaid but I just got another boost mobile phone and the cashier said thats what they charge now...Haven't been charged that yet. Also Audio and picture messaging cost you 25 cents to send AND recieve which sucks and I don't they have any kind of plan to have ulimited media messaging only text....
