I unlocked my phone, and now I want to get Boost mobile because my brother has it and its decent service. I tried out his SIM card in my Blackjack, but it said "No Service". What is needed to get it to work? Anyone know? Thanks

No, Boost mobile uses the Nextel IDEN network which uses a different radio than the Samsung phone. To over-simplify, you are asking if you can use an FM radio to receive AM broadcasts.

Having said that, I have read, but have not been able to confirm that Boost Mobile also has CDMA network offerings that are unadvertised (As opposed to IDEN Networks), but even at that, I really doubt it.

Call a Boost dealer and ask for sure, tho.

They just closed the cdma network to new customers:

Here's an interview with Hesse on the details of why they are doing this:
    www dot rcrwireless dot com/article/20090225/WIRELESS/902259991/1096/dan-hesse-qa-sprint-nextel-focused-on-turnaround

You know, those Sprint christmas commercials with the classical music in the background where everything is black and white except the warm sprint logo made me mad because I knew it's all a bunch of warm and fuzzy BS.
There's real people out there who run their small businesses with their phones and don't need all kinds of bells and whistles and crap, just a decent phone for texting, calling, has a reliable smtp to sms gateway address (email to text forwarding), browsing the web here and there is a nicety when you can't reach a laptop. Here's another idea: let us use our computers on the iden network without paying very much extra. Even if it's slower than gsm and cdma, at least it's faster than dialup right? And it would work everywhere my phone does!
