Hello My name is Mike and I recently bought an i776 about a week and a half ago and I would like to share a review for you that I have just typed up to help people in there desition of getting an i776 phone from boost mobile...

Calling: The calling on this phone works perfect with crystal clear sound, however this phone is not equipt to handle call waiting therefore you have an incoming phonecall while you are on the phone you do not recive notice of that call period, it will be busy or go to answering machine.

Texting: Ok texting my first couple of days was very confusing, My first day I could not send text messages and all my incoming text messages went to my SMS folder rather then my inbox folder, Occationally there is a short delay in sending and reciving a text message and rarley you may have to download a text message if there is a back up of text messages or there is a jam this was slightly frustarting so I called Boost CS and they explained that for a new activation somtimes all the features need to program to my phone so give it a full 24 hours before everything was in order, so I waited and then slowly but surley things started to go in their place and as of now my text messages go to my inbox folder rather then my SMS folder therefor I now know who text me lol unlike before when I had no clue name or number on who was texting me, but give it atleast 3 days to program all to your phone properly for phones with new activation and this problem WILL be resolved. however there is still sometimes a slight delay in getting a text message and rarley you may have to download some in the event of a jam.

Walkie-Talkie aka Chirp: ah this is my most fav feature on this phone, the sound comes in crystal clear and it is much more convienient to send a chirp rather then a long text message, I actually knew no one with a chirp so I took my chirp number and switched a few numbers around and chirped random people, I explained to them that I just recently got this new phone and wanted to test out my chirp, we engaged in good conversation and as of now I have 20 friends with chirps from random number dialing and we all have fun and chirp chat and text its actually very nice and one of my fav features yet.

Speakerphone: Clear as a regular phonecall, I put the phone on my dashboard and drove hands free and the people I was talking to had no Idea that the phone wasnt up to my ear or mouth so this is a plus. good for safe driving without a bluetooth (witch I dont have )

Picture sending: I am still testing out picture sending seems to be a very lil trouble with it but Im working on it and I will soon post a review on that to.

ok now for a couple boost Apps that come pre programmed on phone....

Boost Hookt: ok this on I really dislike its like a chatroom for boost costomers and everything is great about it except, I cant figure out how to type/text in the post box because when I push a text button it strts typing words for me thast im not trying to say, so if anyone figures out how to actually type/text rather then it fill in words for you please let me know cause I can do this on all apps except this one, only on the login screen will it let me switch to alpha rather then word so this is a huge downfall seeing I cannot properly communicate without alphabet rather then it inserting words for me.

Boost Loopt: I love this app, its free and it lets you find out your location and any of your friends with boost location, you can make events and pick places on the map for you and your friends to meet, if your friend needs directions you can send it to him/her using boost loopt, its actually very easy to use and u can connect from your home computer and your phone, I think its a good feature to if your phone gets stolen mabey you can track it online, Im not suere but I will test this out having a friend take my phone and Ill see if I can locate him on the map, Ill repost that later and let you know.

Overall: Overall I give it 3.5 out of 5 stars this is a good phone if you have the patience to wait a day or so till all your features can cautch up, I recomend this phone personally just be patient for the first 24 to 48 hours then you will be satified with your phone I promise. Occationally there is a short delay in sending and reciving a text message and rarley you may have to download a text message if there is a back up of text messages or there is a jam but other then that its a great phone, if you got anyquestions for me about the i776 just ask me, call text or chirp my phone at 440-653-1824 or chirp me at 136*813*2649 or just send a private message to me on here and Ill get back to you within 48 hours.

This is a good review. I'm actually going through the SMS complication right now which is indeed, very frustrating. Did you say you called someone, and they told you to wait it out? Or shall I call someone to get this problem fixed ASAP?

Re: My review On the Motorola i776 from Boost

Thank you for sharing that info, I just bought my i776 from boost yesturday and I was getting pretty frustrated with that whole sms thing. I called boost CS and they said they were reseting all of my devices and had me restart my browser but with no effect, they never said anything about waiting.. As far as picture messages go, I can send them just fine from the camera on my phone but when people send them to me I can't see the picture, so I am just going to wait a couple more days and Hope all my cell phone woes work out like yours, cause I had that same problem, can't see who sent the message and can't reply, just gotta guess and send a new message to who ever you think sent it to you, wich sucks for me, cause I have a 13 year old daughter who texts me, a girlfriend and an ex wife. So you can imagine when I send the wrong message to the wrong person. Thanks for your help....

Re: My review On the Motorola i776 from Boost

Also here are some negatives that I found out about the phone.
Texts seem to come in rather late.
I've had texts being received hours later.
You can't see when the text was sent, as you can with other phones.
So you'll just think that either they are just now replying to your text
Or what ever the case may be.

Also another negative is the call-waiting.
I take it that boost does not have call-waiting.
Yes, their is an option of whether or not you want call-waiting on.
I've tried calling from another phone while in a call on my boost
With the call-waiting on and off.
I guess boost really doesn't have it.

If this is really the case, how are we even supposed to know if someone
Else called us if they don't text or leave a voice-mail not having
Call-waiting? Doesn't really make any sense to me
But if someone has an explanation for this, please feel free to do so.

Call waiting is coming and should be added automatically on or after the 18th

Re: My review On the Motorola i776 from Boost

    Ok, thanks pnoy.

Also has anyone else been having some probs with texting?

Mine have been coming rather late.

My phone is pretty new, I got it on thursday.

So I'm not quite as to if that's the reason.

Although I must say this phone has amazing service.

    No dropped calls for me.

Re: My review On the Motorola i776 from Boost

I had all the same problems with mine when I first got my i776 phone and I also called customer care for help. Before I got a reply back from them I realized that when I first got my phone it hadn't been turned off and back on after I received it because the guys at radio shack did everything for me activated it and what not. After I had turned it off and turned it back on everything worked.
I didn't have anymore problems with my text messages not getting sent I could access the web ect. If you get the phone and activate it and don't turn it off after activating it some stuff on it won't work right away. So try turning it off and turning it back on see if that clears up any problems you may have. Hope that helps!!!

the phone is messenger compatable(sort of). access yahoo through your browser, then click on messenger and sign in. it's simplistic at best, but it works.

Re: My review On the Motorola i776 from Boost

    Hi.

For me this cellphone is really poor... i had a iphone but i came from another country and prepaid AT&T is expensive, then I bought the boost mobile, and has a good plan...

    i got the i776 but i have 2 doubts:

1- when i received a messg the sound the notification, but if a dont read the mesg it sound always until I read the messg, can I configure the i776 to sound only once??

2- when I received a text mesg and I want to reply, always left the original mesg below, can I configure the i776 to reply a new empty mesg?

    thanks..

Re: My review On the Motorola i776 from Boost

I recently bought the i776 also and have the same issue with Hookt as you.
Any word on a resolution to the problem yet or still waiting?
In regards to the chirp, I only know one person who has it and I've only been able to talk to her one time and had a hard time hearing her not because of the phone but because I had a Peterbuilt dump truck behind me Idling so it was hard to hear anything.
Anyhow Would you please drop a line if the charachter entry issue gets resolved?
    Thank you much.
