The Nokia N97 is probably Nokias most long awaited smartphone, attracting attention of many people. Now it come out, is it as our expectation?
N97 is full of Nokia design traist. Its avant-garde body design and smooth surface are classic. other device make N97 look more advanced. a hidden full Qwerty keyboard and 3.5 inch touch screen are perfect operation gear. Its music player is similar with 5800. But its OMAP chip and 369MHz ARM11 CPU make it run faster than 5800.theres an impressive 32GB internal memory, in addition to a microSD card slot that will take cards up to 16GB. Theres also Wi-Fi, a 5-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens and autofocus, HSDPA for speedy web browsing, a 3.5mm headphone jack and an FM transmitter for streaming music.
However, the Nokia slide is leaps and bounds behind the HTC. The slide isnt smooth at all. The struts arent metal, but plastic, leaving us wondering exactly how long the screen will stay attached to the keyboard and there isnt the option to have the screen lay flat, making it hard to type without the aid of a flat surface.
Navigating round the Nokia N97 is somewhat of a chore and demonstrates that the Nokia S60 rel.5 interface hasnt been thought out as well as it should have been. Scrolling isnt as simple as on an HTC device or the iPhone. You have to use a scroll bar rather than the whole screen and that becomes fiddly. Also, buttons are used for different things in different menus so youll have to remember what does what where too.
Its a little pity. Although N97 has many bright spot, there are some problem on it.

Re: Nokia N97, both complimentary and disappointed
The N97 was a contender (along with iPhone and maybe a few others) for king of phones in 08.
NOW, the choices are even more amazing. The phones are way more advanced and the end of 09 plus beginning of 2010 will give us a look at some of the most amazing phones to date!

Great list of features for the phone. But I like you found aspects of the phone that I just couldn't live with.

Incredible device, however I am not too impressed by the touch screen sensitivity. Overall, houses a decent camera and sleek design!

Re: Nokia N97 Review
Thanks for the review. I think the phone looks great, but not sure how reliable it will be.
How about a review of the N97 mini? Any improvements in the mini verison?
