Hi. Looking for some help here. My daughter recently got a new phone, a Samsung Intensity II. She was using it yesterday and it all of a sudden developed what appears to be an internal crack in the screen. It is now essentially useless. There is absolutely no damage to the exterior, and she swears she didn't hit it, drop it, drop anything on it, etc. She would not lie to me.
I brought it to Verizon and they said it is IMPOSSIBLE for a crack to develop without the phone being hit, dropped, etc. Therefore, they will not replace or repair it under warranty (it is less than two months old).
My question is, has anyone ever heard of a phone's screen developing an internal crack for absolutely no detectable reason? If I can show that it's not impossible, then maybe I'll have a chance of getting them to believe me and honor the warranty.
Thanks.

Re: Question about crack in screen
Call Verizon customer service the phone has a one year factory warranty, do not tell them you went to your local Verizon store. If the phone shows no sign of physical damage they should replace it with a refurb no charge.

Re: Question about crack in screen
Thank you for the reply NVGUY. I actually did call Verizon customer service. That was the first thing I did. They transferred me to tech support, who told me they would send a new phone and charge me $100. They would only reimburse me if when they received the one with the crack, they determined there was no physical damage to it. I asked how I could determine the "no physical damage" criteria, and they said to bring it to the Verizon store and have them look at it. This is when all of this nonsense began.

Re: Question about crack in screen
That same EXACT thing happened to me today!!! I have a Droid Incredible 2. It has NEVER had any problems before, even when I dropped it! For some reason today, when I was sitting in a babysitting class, I got my phone out to check it, and BAM a black screen, with a small patch of colored lines in the top left corner, seemingly like an internal crack. It has not worked since and I have NO IDEA what could have happened! Only 15 mins before this happened, I was playing on it during the break... I am so glad someone is as confused as I am about this problem!

Re: Question about crack in screen
I have never heard of this before :/ Maybe it has got to do with the brand of the phone?

Re: Question about crack in screen
Would replacing the HTC Vivid via AT&T cost around $100 as well?
