"GP" logo connection

Okay so my brother and i just upgraded to a SAMSUNG X427 phone.

His phone has the little "GP" blue icon on the top of the screen. Mine does not.
and his can connect to the internet. mine can't.

i even signed up with a username and password at CINGULAR (our service provider) and made a different profile for the internet.

anyone have any ideas as to why mine can't connect?

should i just take it back and ask what's up? or do you guys know of a way to connect or something i'm missing?

You most likely don't have your GPRS WAP wireless web set up correctly. The GP at the top of his phone most likely is short for GPRS. Contact Cingular about how to properly configure your wireless web.

hey man, you're right, i found that out by asking the customer service people in town. it was real simple.
so it's all cool now.

oh by the way....would you happen to know if there is like a way to change THEMES or COLOURS on the SAMSUNG x427?
or would you know how to change the colour and position of the time and date on the main screen of the phone?
cuz it's hard to see sometimes based on the background colours. its always black.
