Best Cingular Phone for Reception?

Hello, I currently have Alltel but plan on switching to Cingular within the next few days. I live on the outskirts of a relatively big city, however, since I live between two mountains I can currently only pick up, on average, 1 to 2 bars with my current Nokia phone. I can pick up 4 or so bars if I walk just 50 yards down the street. For this reason, I have been forced to use a land line two which I am hoping to drop.

With Cingular, are there any specific phones that you guys would recommend to optimize my reception (I am considering a Razor). Any phones to avoid for bad reception? Also, I was told that I could buy some type of booster kit that might improve my reception by a couple bars. Anybody have any advice on this?

In my experiance, a nokia cell phone would be the best phone as far as reception in general. I have heard mixed things about the razr as far reception goes but that could be entirely dependant on where the nearest tower is.

Yup, Nokias are generally a good choice for reception. 6010 & 3220...basic and old cell phones. But if you don't need the features and looks, I guess those would be the ones I would recommend.

Nokia is really the best

Motorola in general sucks anymore... they have way too many problems.

great just got a razor map grid shows excellent reception on my street but I cant make a single call from hom but my wifes dinki verizon phone works great
