Yeah PC isn't too bad, except I've heard that it crashes when it gets overloaded with programs, sounds etc.
I was thinking about using DP (digital performer) on the MAC, I've heard and read a lot of reviews on the program, seems the way to go, some ppl say its the same if not better than Pro Tools.
Cheers

RAM
One thing to consider. Price of RAM.
Upgrading your RAM will speed up and reduce the risk of crashing your system while editing large sound files.
MACs are mad expensive for the amount of RAM you get.
The more RAM the better.
I have 768 MB DDR in my computer.
My brother has a 1.5 Gigs of RAM.
Before I upgraded from 128 to 256 and then 768, manipulating large files caused my computer to hang or crash.
All depends on what you want to spend.
And remember, PCs can use the SB Audigy/Extigy sound card!

um nixta actually which platform are you used to using, PC or MAC. You just choose the platform your used to so you don't need to learn and plus you wanted it to be your portable recording studio so that means you already know which program you are familliar with.

iBook definitely. Makes more sense... More music-related software available.
