While the iPhone 5s has barely hit the market (and has already sold out like hotcakes in multiple stores), rumors about the next Apple flagship smartphone have now started to hit the web. Specifically, analyst David Hsieh from DisplaySearch has recently reported that the iPhone 6 will most likely arrive with a larger display than the one fitted on the iPhone 5, 5s and 5C.

This seems like a pretty valid point, given the fact that Apple has a tendency of increasing its smartphone screen size once every two years. For instance, the both the iPhone 4 and the 4s have hit the market with a 3.5 inch display featuring a resolution of 640 x 960. With the iPhone 5, Apple has redesigned its flagship smartphone, and introduced a larger 4.0 inch display boasting a resolution of 640 x 1136. The same screen is now used on the iPhone 5s as well as the 5C.

Based on these developments alone, Apple should release an iPhone 6 in 2014, that should feature a larger (than 4 inch) display, and a higher resolution than 640 x 1136.

In fact, recent rumors have started indicating that the next Apple flagship could feature a 4.7 or a 4.8 inch display. More so, various other rumors have suggested that the Cupertino-based giant is also looking into the possibility of entering the "phablet" market segment, with a smartphone that could deliver a 6-inch display.

In my opinion, Apple hasn't really been too eager to increase the size of its panels by a whole lot, despite the new "standards" that have now been set on the Android market. While I do believe that the next-gen iPhone will feature a larger screen and a higher resolution, I think that an Apple "iPhablet" might not happen anytime soon. As for the iPhone 6, 4.7 inches might also be too large according to Apple's standards, so what we might end up with could be a 4.3 inch panel, or a bump to 4.5 inches. Only time will reveal these exact details, but certain changes are bound to happen nonetheless. Any thoughts?

Yes it's needed as other cell phone manufacturers offer very big screen comapre to Apple in same range.
