The Samsung Exhilarate Is For Those On A Tight Budget

One of the next wave of Samsung smartphones is on its way to your door if you live in the United States. This one is going to be called the "Samsung Exhilarate". Will it exhilarate you? If it is your first smartphone, the answer to that may be, "Yes.". If you are a power smartphone user, the exhilaration may not hit you at all. The Samsung Exhilarate will have the ability to please your wallet.

This new smartphone from the "land of the morning calm" is rising in the minds of AT&T workers. It was revealed at CES 2012 this year. The handset is designed to be "eco-friendly" as well as support some of the latest and fastest 4G networks. The smartphone proudly got the Platinum level by the UL Environment group. It is 80 percent recyled from post-consumer materials. It is designed to have energy efficient construction and should save on battery life because of it. The Samsung Exhilarate does not have the Siri digital assistant, since this is an Android smartphone, but it does have voice recognition. There is no manual keyboard.

The screen on the Samsung Exhilarate is one half of an inch larger than the iPhone. It is four inches of impressive digital real estate. The impressiveness comes from the fact that it is created from Super AMOLED material. This type of display uses less energy and is brighter than the older LCD technology. There is no detailed information yet on the clarity of this smartphone, but do not look for it to be as clear as an iPhone screen. It supports "multi touch" and all the other acrobatic maneuvers that smartphone users have become accustomed to.

The Samsung Exhilarate is not going to come with the latest version of Android. The 2.3 "Gingerbread" version is going to be installed in this Korean handset. This is the version that Google was "exhilarated" to show to the world because it supports NFC ( Near Field Communications ). There is no evidence that this smartphone has the extra chip needed to support NFC, even if Gingerbread does. But there is nothing to worry about, this handset can download QR code apps and use other apps for monetary transactions if needed. The Android platform is not considered secure yet, with malware problems still having a heyday. At the end of January as many as five million Android users were probably infected with the "counterclank" malware. It was packaged to resemble a legitimate app, but came loaded with a nasty batch of software instead.

This Samsung smartphone is going to have two cameras, one on the front and one on the back. There is not going to be a lot of features or a lot of power for the cameras, but at least the rear camera will support face detection. The wireless connectivity is not going to be as impressive as other more expensive smartphones, but it will be able to be used as a Wi-Fi hotspot. Do not forget that this will be able to handle the fast "4G" networks and have a cheap price. Expect the Samsung Exhilarate to sell for around $50 dollars with an AT&T contract.
