The Sony Xperia ZL is one of the aforementioned company's flagship smartphone, packing the same overall hardware specs as the ZL, yet boasting enough differences to stand out from the crowd and have its own identity. In any case, the gadget has already seen the light of day in certain regions (including US, Australia, Russia and more), and as far as its availability in Canada goes, the ZL has been available for purchase via a handful of carriers such as Rogers, Videotron and Bell.
Now Mobilicity is catching up with its competition, as the mobile operator in question has begun retailing the Xperia ZL alongside the price of $599.99. "Simple and unlimited" plans start at $25 per month and can go as high as $75.
As a quick reminder, the Xperia ZL packs a 5-inch 1080p display with a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch, Mobile Bravia 2 engine, a Snapdragon S4 Pro quad-core CPU clocked at 1.5 GHz, an Adreno 320 GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage expandable by up to 64 GB via microSD, an Exmor RS 13 MP camera on the back, a 2 MP front-facing shooter, Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean out of the box and a 2,370 mAh battery.
Overall, the ZL is almost identical with the
Xperia Z in terms of hardware specs, but the former lacks waterproof capabilities. In exchange, the Xperia ZL has slightly smaller dimensions than the Z (except for its thickness).
