Are you on the lookout for a decently equipped smartphone that won't burn a hole in your pocket (figuratively speaking)? If so, then you might want to learn a bit more about what Cricket has to offer. The carrier in question has just announced the ZTE Source, which is a new entry-level smartphone that seems to offer a good bundle of feature for its price.

Spec-wise, the ZTE Source delivers a 4.5 inch display with a resolution of 480 x 854 and a pixel density of 218 pixels per inch. The handset is being powered by a dual-core Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.2 GHz. Furthermore, the Source packs 1 GB of RAM and 4 GB of internal storage, expandable by up to 32 GB via microSD. There's also a 5 MP main camera boasting 720p HD video recording capabilities, delivering features such as face detection. The gadget is also LTE-enabled, and arrives with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.

As far as the price goes, the ZTE Source is being retailed at the MSRP of $219.99 off-contract. Prospective customers can also pair the device with Cricket's $45 unlimited plans that offer 2.5 GB of full-data speed, and access to Muve Music. Alternatively, customers can sign up for a $55 a month plan which offers 5 GB of full-speed data, or if you're willing to add an extra $10 for a total of $65, you can enjoy 10 GB of full-speed data. Regardless of which plan you'd choose, you'll benefit from unlimited talk and text.

Overall, the ZTE Source seems like a pretty interesting choice for those who are looking for an entry-level smartphone. The gadget is fairly equipped, the price is good and Cricket's plans are attractive as usual. Would any of you be interested in buying this handset?
