LG Optimus L9 at T-Mobile Receives Android 4.1 Jelly Bean – Details Inside

The LG Optimus L9 has begun receiving the Android 4.1 update in certain regions of Europe last week, but the good news for those of you that happen to own this particular gadget in the US through T-Mobile, is that the carrier in question has now started releasing the update on its variant as well. Indeed, it didn't take too long for Magenta to catch up and owners of the L9 can't really complain about being left behind.

The update itself is being deployed over the air and consists in a 350 MB package that will bump your smartphone's OS to Android 4.1.2. The carrier's support page reminds everyone that in order to be able and download the update, your Optimus L9 must have at least 50% battery life and it must run on Android version 4.0.4 / Software version P76910g.

As to what you can expect from the update itself, the changelog is rather missing from the support page but what we know for sure is that Google Now and Project Butter will be present, as both these features are native on any version of Jelly Bean. As a quick reminder, Project Butter stands for a whole lot of enhancements and optimizations under the hood that will make your handset run better, smoother and more reliable. As for Google Now, well, I don't really think that this particular feature needs a large introduction/explanation, so we'll just leave it at "virtual assistant".
