I would ask if those of you who know would please respond.
I just purchased my first phone(a nokia 2600) though tracfone. I have no idea if I will use it much, but I feel better just having it.
my question is: can any phone(say this one) be used to activate service from any provider?
I realize that I may loose my phone number but I was concerned about what if I don't like tracfone once I've used the minutes I've paid for. Will I be able to switch to another carrier like we can with land lines? I assume I would have to get another SIM or something.
could those of you who know please give me details? I thank you.

hi, i unlock nokia phone but not nokia from tracfone. tracfone phones have a hard lock and it cannot unlock thru code. data cable solution is needed to unlock your phone.
unlock phone allowed you to use any diff sim card there is. you can switch to cingular, at&t and t-mobile by just replacing the sim card.
