In 2007, I'm travelling to England to spend 6 months there (I'm currently in Australia). I can't take my current phone with me, as it won't work so I'm in the market for a new phone. Unfortunately, phones aren't really my area and have no idea what to go for, so I'm looking for recommendations.

I need a phone to stay in touch while travelling, so I'd quite possibly need a phone that will be okay in South Korea as well, as that is my point of transit for almost 24 hours.

Any recommendations/suggestions as to what phones to look at would be awesome.

I'd suggest buying an unlocked phone and then buy a prepaid SIM in the UK. I'd recommend T-Mobile UK or Vodafone.
