Re: built in answering system
Voicemail is included with every provider as far as I know so it's not like you have to pay extra for it... but I know that several Sanyo phones from Sprint have a sort-of "call screening" feature, my Katana can record a 15 second short message that saves in "voice memos", and I can listen to the caller leave the message, then choose to answer or let the phone hang up on them (it's an obvious click, then dead air, when the phone runs out of recording space). I just now tried it for the first time so I could post this reply... honestly I think it's kinda pointless and the Sprint vm has a bunch of features you won't get with a "call screening" feature.

Re: built in answering system
Thank you Brad729 for the reply. I live in Toronto and all providers charge around $10 just for voice mail. Thats befor %14 tax!!!!! So is Kanata a GSM phone? does it take SIM card? I personaly like motorola phone but if that phone can be activated here I will buy it. thanks again

Re: built in answering system
Sorry, the Katana is a CDMA phone, and also a Sprint PCS exclusive model. Perhaps there is a GSM model from Sanyo with a similar feature? I'd have to check around some more to be able to answer that one...

Here are two phones I was able to find that are GSM and have call screening, I'm not sure if it's like Sanyo's call screening feature because these are Siemens phones: Phone Finder Results (Phone Scoop)
