this place seems to have a bit more traffic, maybe I can get my question answered more quickly here?

You may have heard by now ampd service filed chapter 11 bankruptcy.

My question is will I be able to continue my service? Or will I have to get a new phone?

    Thanks.

    Yes we heard.

Amp'd was a CDMA carrier. CDMA carriers are not as friendly to switching phones from one carrier to another as would a GSM carrier (T-Mobile, AT&T, Vodafone, etc). With that said, Amp'd did not have their own network and rode their traffic on Verizon's network so you may wish to stop in and see Verizon and ask them if they have any programs to convert Amp'd's CDMA phones over to Verizon's native network. That would be about your only hope.

Well, If I had answered this question back when you first posted it I would have said you could continue your service until Amp'd disconnected it. I am an Amp'd customer as well, I say "am" because although Amp'd folded a couple weeks ago, I still have service on my phone. Don't ask me how that is cause I honestly couldn't tell you, but never the less, my phone still works
