Re: Wet Cell Phone - What To Do if Your Cell Phone Gets Wet!
I was out one night at a house party and i dropped my phone into the toilet... i thought it would be dead since the phone was on already, everythihng was messed up from the lcd screen to the battery. I brought my phone to this place called gear for tech, they were able to fix everything on the phone and it works perfectly to this day still. They also do all repairs and unlockings at crazy cheap prices!! gearfortech dot com and cellularclinic dot com are the websites if interested.

In cases of wet cellphones all you have to do is dry it up, and after that test it if its still working, too bad if it doesn't work, but if you have warranty ask it to be sent away to a phone engineer, and i think its the best solution for wet phones.

Re: Wet Cell Phone - What To Do if Your Cell Phone Gets Wet!
I accidentally dropped my Sony Ericsson 580i in hot tea a couple months ago. All I did was take out the battery and let it air out for a few hours - now it work's perfectly fine. The only way you could tell is by a few bright spots on the screen at certain angles and the fact that the colors on the side buttons are now different. (i.e. green and red instead of green and green, purple and blue instead of blue).
I'm actually glad it happened - it makes for a cool effect, plus it's one thing to make my phone unique from all the other 580i phones so many people have.

great advise i would say dry the phone for atleast 4 days before you turn it on coz there is one little thing on battery that turns red which indicates water damage.

Re: Wet Cell Phone - What To Do if Your Cell Phone Gets Wet!
went to the beach with a friend and he through me in the ocean. I still had my pants on and my phone was in my pocket.
After a day or two, it would come back on and worked fine for a while, but after some time the screen started to flicker and and wouldn't stay on for more than a second at a time and did a lot of random things. lol

My experience is that you have to dry it out as soon as possible before things get corrosive.

Re: Wet Cell Phone - What To Do if Your Cell Phone Gets Wet!
If the inside of your cell phone gets wet there is only one thing that will improve your chances a lot. Take the phone apart, remove the LCD and put everything else in an alcohol bath for a few hours. The idea is to dilute the water with the alcohol so much that it will cause no rust.
Unless you take it apart and do this any small drop of water in a circuit board will cause rust and is likely to render your phone useless.
