Alright. I'll come out and say it. I'm a text-oholic. I'm currently with Cingular/AT&T (whatever they call themselves now) and am desperately wanting a phone with a decent size QWERTY interface. I currently use a Samsung SYNC and simply want something designed for texting. I'm more than willing to change providers (min has been...let's say "subpar" as of late) and want to know what my options would be for the cream o' the crop QWERTY based phones. I'm currently looking at T-Mobile's Sidekick series, and have heard many mixed reviews on each. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. If you have the time, please list your suggested phone and it's capabilities. If not, the name and provider will be just fine. I'm sorry if this post sounds demanding, I've just been to too many sites looking at reviews and want to know other people's opinions and preferences over others, besides just their favorite things about that phone are. Thanks in advance.

    *edit*

I'm really not that picky. I just want a QWERTY pad designed for lager thumbs. I've seen some that are so small that I press four letters with the tip of my thumb!

Since you're on ATT, I'd suggest trying the Blackjack, E62, or any of the Blackberrys that they carry. If you're willing to spend a little extra money, try looking at **** for some unlocked phones. Just make sure that it has the 850 mHz band on it.

I would have to say that by far my texting abilities have increased greatly since I got my first BlackBerry. I can type faster on it than I can on my laptop. Pitaful, I know.

Anyone have any options on this?

IMO, purely for texting, and nothing else, Verizon phones win. Voyager and env2 phones specifically. They all have qwerty keyboards and are easy to use.

    Re: Top Texting Phone?

I have to agree tavenger, I have been searching on at&t for a texting phone for my brother, and verizon just has so many more and better options. I was kinda surprised. I have been with Verizon since the mid 90's and never really searched around at other networks until recently.
As of today, I am trying to get him an LG Vu off of Ebay, used, but under $90, and its not easy to find that. They are all going well over 100.

I decided on they Vu for him because its light and has qwerty for text, all touch screen, but he will like it, my friend has one, and I have played around with it alittle and it seems ok.
I have the Dare, and really like it for all the things I do, including texting.
Anyway, those are my thoughts on your post.

    Cheers!

I'm a fan of my Touch Pro for texting; nice slide out keyboard does the job well.
