My father's birthday is coming up and we decided to buy him a phone. He has the habbit of dropping the phone on the ground so we're looking for something really resistant. He also needs dual-sim and long battery life. Anyone can tell me about a phone that would do all this? I'm from Europe so no USA-only models please.

Dual SIM phones are rather rare, the only two that I know of are both by CECT. The 1S-K630i in which both SIMS can work simultaneously & the other is CECT P168 (the iPhone clone) in which the two SIMS cannot be used simultaneously.

Since CECT basically makes "clones", I don't know how rugged they would be. Both the phones are quad-band btw.
