What are your opinions on these Chinese clones?

If one could get a phone similar to the originals and not cost as much, wouldn't you think it'd still be a good deal? so what if it isn't as good as the original. As long as it works though, right? And If one has the extra money.. Why not?

Like I think I like this phone..

Sorry, haven't being around the internet. This phones are like any other phone, thought they are ssold as smartphone, it's only a phone. As of now, there are various in the market, Sciphones brand, fake Sciphone, which are a copy of the Sciphone i68 (+). They work pretty damn good, with complete programing. It last like any other brand or phone model. The best thing is that you can manage the phone as you wish ( in terms of flashing) and update the firmware. There ae some new models coming out at a more expensive price. For example, the N21 seems like a promising smartphone, with WiFi, and a 5.0mp camera.
People complaint about these phones, haven't you ever got a phone that has being factory damage? Or that has being DOA? Is just like any other phone. Just make sure that the seller gives you a warranty, if there is no warranty, stay way from it.

My friend just got a Sciphone model i9tt. It looks like an iPhone and you can open the back to insert a new battery and put in 2 SIM cards. He uses T-Mobile pre-paid so he can't get the internet or other services. I don't think he can even download itunes. He paid $70 but is it worth it if you can't do these things?

The only reason that he won't be able to download anything or use the internet is:
    1. He have to configure the wap set up himself, the phones is unlocked so it have no wap or gprs set up.
    2. He is currently using pre-paid, as far as I understand pre-paid sim card are for the use of making phone calls only. If he have any doubt all he have to do is call t-mobile service center and asked for the sim to be open for the internet and mms.
I had set up quite a few of these phone for T-mobile and worked.

I know these. These are the phones made by some small factories in the south of China. They call them emulational mobile phone. These phones are like the really ones very much. But the functions are totally different. So they are very cheap, also has bad quality. Sometimes some stores sell them as the really ones to cheat the customers.

as I know, hiphone is the most branded china mobile, the appearance looks the same as original one. my friend buy a clone iphone 3gs with 3.5inch touch screen, dual sim card, quan-band, wifi, GPRS, 2GB memory and other apps like MSN, facebook etc, only cost $158, currently it work well, so I think you can have a try on this iphone clone.

    Hi irene5909,

Would you like to help me or your friend who bought a Chinese Mobile phone can help me to setup WAP and GPRS? Currently, I have one that I bought online with eBay last week from China Mobile phone, And it's a cell phone branded A3000 2G WIFI, TV Quad Band, Dual Sim, Dual Camera touch h-Iphone.

Actually, AT&T is my network provider and I pay per use. To activate my phone and use the services that I need for, I buy "Messaging services, and DATA services" from AT&T. Currently, I can receive and send Text messaging without problem, but cannot connect and browse to the Internet (DATA service is not working). When I try to connect or browse, it said: "Faided to connect" "GPRS is not connected", please contact your network provider.

I called AT&T service care for helps, but they didn't know what to do and asked me what's device, its brand, manufacturer etc..and you know the answer thereafter.

I go around friends and ST&T stores in every corners, but nothing is done. By Google searching for help, I found this site and this forum then signed up to find people's helps. I read this forum page and I found people have almost similarly problems like me. But your post sound like you know the answer, and setup WAP and GPRS data to connect to the Internet. So would you like to help me, please? I apprecite.

    Hi Willyinpr4u,

I read your message of 10/24/2009 at 9:07 AM posting above about a chinese cell phone look like an IPhone. Your explanation about the Internet connection problem to the guy match exactly to what I need, and I encounter now. I have the same problems. As I see: "YOU had set up quite a few of these phone for others (T-mobile) and worked. Would you like to help me how to setup mine? My network provider is AT&T.
Currently, I pay per use. AT&T is my network provider and I buy "Messaging services (Texting SMS) and DATA services (Video, TV, music etc.) SMS (messaging) is working now. There is no problem for SMS, except Internet connection and Internet browsing. When i launch to connect the Internet, after 5-10 seconds, the connection is failed and said: Failed Internet connection" in the bottom, GPRS is failed. Please contact your network provider.
Could you help me, please? I am really apprecited.

Related to your message posted 12/18/2009 at 2:41 am. Currently, I have a cell phone similarly the one your friend has now, except it's a 2GB memory. How she does to connect and browse it to the Internet? Did she has to setup herself WAP and GPRS? How she did to be working? Would you like to help me, please?
Despite I buy AT&T Messaging services and DATA services, pay-per-use, I still cannot connect it to the Internet. I think my problem is from WAP and GPRS setting. What's? I don't know. However, SMS messaging is working well except Internet connection. The phone is WIFI. Could YOU or anybody in the forum can help me? I'd thank you.

It all depends on the attitude about shopping. These clone phones, cheap, powerful, some may work pretty good. Most of the features are almost the same or close to the original phones. It is hard to resist it. But on the other side, you may have to face such awful experience, the phone can't recognize your sim card or other problems. So choosing a good seller is very important. I suggest CectUnlocked.com. I purchased 3 phones there, 2 still work fine since I purchased it 4 month ago. And 1 sent back and can work well right now.
That's a good way to save money.

hi, because china mobile phone is unlocked, you have to set up the GPRS vs GSM data by yourself, google on internet, I think you can find your answer.
