I've never been a fan of carrying a cell phone, to be honest, but I'm at the point where it makes more sense for me to do so as I'm traveling more. I don't want to commit to a contract so I figured I'd go for a pay-as-you-go plan. I want decent Internet access, preferably with an unlimited data plan. Which provider do you think has the best plan?

Where are you located? Several major carriers (Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile. Sprint) also offer prepaid plans as well as prepaid only companies like Boost Mobile and Straight Talk.
