Cache and Uninstalling

Clearing App Cache and Data:

Note: clearing an application's cache or data can help fix various software issues with the app. Note that, if you clear the data, any information stored in the app will be lost (such as settings, saved games and login information). To prevent losing this data, try clearing the cache first.

  1. While on the home screen, tap "All apps"
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Scroll down to "Device" and then tap "Applications"
  4. If necessary, swipe left to access the "All" screen
  5. Select the desired app
  6. Tap "Clear cache"
  7. Press "Clear data"
  8. If necessary, press "OK"

Uninstalling an Application:

  1. While viewing the home screen, tap the "All apps" icon
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Scroll down to "Device" and tap "Applications"
  4. If necessary, swipe the screen to the left in order to view the "All" screen
  5. Select the app that you wish to remove
  6. Tap "Uninstall" and then tap "OK" to confirm

Hiding or Showing Applications

Some applications that come preloaded on your device cannot be uninstalled. However, you can still disable them. By disabling an application, it will cause it to disappear from the Apps menu, and it will also stop performing updates.

Hiding an App:

  1. While on the home screen, tap "All apps"
  2. Tap "Settings"
  3. Under "Device", tap "Applications"
  4. If necessary, swipe left to go to the "All" screen
  5. Select the desired application
  6. Tap "Disable" and then press "OK" to confirm

Showing Apps:

To enable or show a preloaded app that has been hidden:

  1. Tap the "All apps" icon located on the home screen
  2. Select "Settings"
  3. Scroll to "Device", and then tap "Applications"
  4. Swipe left to go to the "All" screen
  5. Select the app that you wish to show, and then tap "Enable"
