Transfer Audio Files from a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the ZTE ZMAX 2 and computer
  2. Swipe the “Notification” bar down while viewing the home screen
  3. Make sure the phone is connected as a “Disk Drive” or “Media sync (MTP)”
  4. On the computer, open an Explorer window and locate the media files on your PC
  5. Copy the desired files
  6. Navigate to the phone storage, and paste the files, preferably in the “Media” > “Ringtones” / “Alarms” > / “Notifications” directories. (If the folders are missing you can create them yourself)
  7. After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage from the system tray
  8. Safely disconnect the device from the USB

Change the Phone’s Ringtone:

  1. Open the apps drawer and go to “Settings”
  2. Swipe to “Device” and tap “Sound & notification”
  3. Tap “Phone ringtone”
  4. Select the desired ringtone and tap “OK” to confirm
  5. Optionally, you can enable or disable “Also vibrate for calls”

Change the Ringtone of a Specific Contact:

NOTE: Custom ringtones cannot be assigned to contacts stored on the SIM or the phone’s internal memory.

  1. Tap “Contacts” on the home screen
  2. Select the desired contact
  3. Tap “Edit” and press “Menu”
  4. Tap “Set ringtone” and select a ringtone from the list
  5. Tap “OK” to confirm

Change the Notification Sound:

  1. Tap “All Apps” on the home screen
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Under “Device”, tap “Sound & notification”
  4. Tap “Default Notification Sound” under “Sound”
  5. Tap the desired notification sound and press “OK” to confirm
