Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Go to the phones Settings menu
- Scroll to Device and tap Battery
- Tap Menu and enable Battery saver
Disable Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, and Hotspot:
NOTE: By disabling the phones connectivity features when they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- On the home screen, swipe the Notification bar down
- Tap the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Location to disable these features
- Go to Settings and tap Location to access more GPS settings
- Tap Mode > Battery saving
- To turn off Hotspot, return to the Settings menu
- Then, tap More under Wireless & Networks
- Tap the switch to disable Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Access the Settings menu
- Scroll to Device and tap Display
- If necessary, tap to turn off Adaptive brightness
- Tap Brightness level and drag the brightness slider to the left
- Return to the Display menu and tap Sleep
- Select a lower timeout duration, like 15 seconds
Minimize the Use of a Third Party App:
NOTE: Some third party applications can have a negative effect on your phones battery life even if you dont use them assuming that the apps perform regular background processes. As such, you might be able to improve battery life by disabling or removing unused third party applications.
- Go to the Settings menu
- Scroll to Device and tap Apps
- Access the Downloaded section
- Select the desired app and tap Force stop / Disable
- To remove the app from the phone, tap Uninstall > OK
Switch from 4G to 2G:
- Go to the Settings screen
- Under Wireless & networks, tap More
- Tap Mobile networks > Preferred network type
- Tap to enable 2G
