Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Go to the phones Settings menu
- Swipe to Device and tap Battery
- Tap Menu and enable Battery saver
Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:
NOTE: By disabling the phones connectivity features when they are not in use, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Tap the Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and Location tiles to disable these features
- Open the Settings menu and tap Location (GPS)
- Tap Mode > Battery saving
- To turn off Hotspot, first return to Settings
- Under Wireless & Networks, tap More
- Disable Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
Switch from 4G to 2G:
- Open the phones Settings menu
- Under Wireless & networks, tap More
- Tap Mobile networks > Preferred network type
- Tap to enable 2G
Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Access the Settings menu
- Scroll to Device and tap Display
- If necessary, disable Adaptive brightness
- Tap Brightness level and drag the brightness slider towards the left
- In the Display menu, tap Sleep
- Select a lower value, like 15 seconds
Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:
NOTE: Some of your third party applications can affect your phones battery performance even when you dont use them, assuming that they perform regular background tasks. As such, by disabling or removing unused third party apps from your phone, you might be able to improve battery life.
- Open the Settings menu
- Scroll to Device and tap Apps
- Access Downloaded
- Select the desired app and tap Force Stop / Disable
- To remove the app from the phone, tap Uninstall > OK
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: By setting your accounts to sync less data / less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.
- Tap Apps on the home screen and access Settings
- Scroll to Personal and tap Accounts
- Select an account type and clear / check the available sync options as you desire
