Turn On Battery Saving Mode:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Go to “Settings”
  3. Tap “Battery” under “Device”
  4. Tap “Menu” > “Battery saver”
  5. Turn on battery saver mode

Disable Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS:

NOTE: By disabling the phone’s connectivity features when not in use (including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, GPS, and Bluetooth), you can improve battery life in the long run. To do this:

  1. Swipe the “Status” bar down
  2. Tap the “Wi-Fi”, “Bluetooth” and “Location” tiles to disable these features
  3. Open the “Settings” menu
  4. Tap “Location” > “Mode” and select “Battery saving”
  5. Return to “Settings”
  6. Tap “Wireless & Networks” > “More” > “Tethering & mobile hotspot”
  7. Tap to disable “Mobile Wi-Fi hotspot”

Switch from 4G to 2G Connectivity:

  1. Open the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Wireless & networks”
  3. Tap “More” > “Mobile Networks” > “Preferred network type”
  4. Tap to enable “2G”

Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:

  1. Access the phone’s “Settings” menu
  2. Scroll to “Device” and tap “Display”
  3. Tap “Brightness level”
  4. If necessary, turn off “Adaptive brightness”
  5. Drag the brightness slider towards the left
  6. Return to the “Display” menu and tap “Sleep”
  7. Select a lower value, like “15 seconds”

Change Sync Settings:

NOTE: By setting your accounts to sync less data / less often, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Open the “Settings” menu
  2. Go to “Accounts” and select the desired account type
  3. Swipe through the list and turn off the desired sync options

Minimize the Use of Third Party Applications:

NOTE: Certain third party applications can affect your phone’s battery performance even when you don’t use them. This is because certain third party apps can perform regular background processes when not in use. Thus, by disabling or removing unused third party apps, you can improve battery life in the long run.

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Go to “Settings” and tap “Apps”
  3. Go to the “Downloads” tab
  4. Select the desired app
  5. Tap “Disable” / “Force stop” to turn off the app
  6. To remove the app from the phone, tap “Uninstall” > “OK”
