Back Up Data:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Turn on “Back up my data” to back up settings, account data, and Wi-Fi passwords to your Google account
  5. Turn on “Automatic Restore” if you want your account to restore data automatically when you sign in with your Google backup account the next time

Back Up Contacts on a Google Account:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Launch “Settings”
  3. Go to “Accounts” and tap “Google”
  4. Select the account you want to use for the backup
  5. Make sure “Contacts” is selected
  6. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method will be automatically restored the next time you sign in with your Google backup account.

Back Up Contacts to Storage:

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Go to “All Contacts”
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”
  4. Choose to “Export to storage”
  5. Tap “OK” to confirm (NOTE: Make sure you remember the backup file’s name for future use)

Restore Contacts from Storage:

  1. Launch “Contacts” and tap “All Contacts”
  2. Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”
  3. Select to “Import from storage”
  4. After the phone finishes searching or vCard files, select the one you wish to restore / import
  5. Follow the on-screen steps and if necessary, select an account to complete the process

Back Up & Restore Media Files Using a Windows PC:

  1. Establish a USB connection between the PC and ZTE Grand X 3
  2. Swipe the “Notification” bar down
  3. Enable “Media Sync (MTP)” / “Media deice” if necessary
  4. On the computer, open the File Explorer
  5. Locate the media files on your phone
  6. Copy the desired files and paste them on your computer’s hard drive
  7. After backing up the files, eject the phone storage from system tray, and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord

NOTE: To restore media files from your PC, follow the first 4 steps above and then copy the media files backed up on your PC, then transfer them back on your phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder they originate from.
