Back Up Application Data:

  1. Open the apps drawer
  2. Access “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
  4. To back up settings, account / app data, and Wi-Fi passwords to your Google account, turn on “Back up my data”
  5. To restore app data automatically upon the next login, enable “Automatic Restore”

Back Up Contacts Using a Google Account:

  1. Launch the apps drawer and go to “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts” and tap “Google”
  3. Select the account you want to use for the backup
  4. Ensure “Contacts” is selected and tap “Menu”
  5. Tap “Sync Now”

NOTE: Contacts backed up using this method will be restored automatically the next time you sign in with your Google backup account.

Back Up Contacts to Storage:

  1. Launch “Contacts”
  2. Access the “All Contacts” tab
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”
  4. Select to “Export to storage”
  5. Remember the file’s name for future use and tap “OK” to confirm

Restore Contacts from Storage:

  1. Open “Contacts”
  2. Go to “All Contacts”
  3. Tap “Menu” > “Import / Export”
  4. Select “Import from storage”
  5. Once the phone finishes searching for vCard files, select the one you want to import
  6. Follow the on-screen steps and, if necessary, select an account to use for restoring the contacts

Back Up and Restore Media Files on a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the ZTE Blade X9 to your computer via USB
  2. At the prompt, enable “Media device (MTP)”. Otherwise enable the option from the notification area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Use the Explorer to locate the media files on your phone
  5. Copy the files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
  6. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and disconnect the device from the USB cord

NOTE: To restore media files from your computer, follow the same steps above and then copy the media files from the computer, back on the phone storage instead. (Preferably in the “Media” directory, or the folder they originate from).
