Back Up App Data:

  1. Tap “Apps” on the home screen
  2. Open “Settings”
  3. Scroll to “Personal” and tap “Backup & reset”
  4. Enable “Back up my data” to back up app data, passwords, settings etc. to your Google account
  5. To allow app data to be automatically restored when reinstalling apps or signing in with your Google backup account, enable “Automatic Restore”

Back Up Contacts on Your Google Account:

  1. Go to “Settings”
  2. Access “Accounts”
  3. Select an account type and the account you want to use for contact syncing
  4. Make sure “Contacts” is checked
  5. Tap “Menu” > “Sync Now”

NOTE: To restore contacts, sign in with the Google backup account on the phone and follow the on-screen prompts to restore the desired data.

Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:

  1. Connect the ZTE Axon 7 Max to your computer via USB
  2. Turn “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” ON at the prompt or from the “Notification” area
  3. Open the File Explorer on the computer and locate the media files on the phone
  4. Copy the media files and transfer them in the desired backup location on the computer
  5. Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port

Restore Media Files from a Windows Computer:

  1. Connect the ZTE Axon 7 Max to your computer via USB
  2. Turn “Media device (MTP)” / “File Transfer (MTP)” ON when prompted or from the “Notification” area
  3. Launch the File Explorer on the computer
  4. Locate the media backup files on the PC storage and copy them
  5. Transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the “Media” directory or the folder(s) they originate from
  6. After the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
