Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup & reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically when signing in with the backup account or upon reinstalling apps
Back Up and Restore Contacts:
- Launch Contacts
- Access Accounts
- Select an account type
- Tap the account you want to use for contact backup
- Check the Contacts tick box
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: You can restore the contacts the next time you sign in with the backup account.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows Computer:
- Connect the Android device to your computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy and paste the files in the desired backup location on the PC
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Navigate to the media file backups on the PC storage
- Copy and transfer the files on the phone storage, preferably in the directories from where they originate
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB
