Transfer iPhone Contacts via iTunes:

NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with an active Internet connection, you can sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account, and then you can sync the account data and contacts with the Android phone.

  1. Connect the iPhone to the computer via USB
  2. Open iTunes on the computer
  3. Click the iPhone and access “Info”
  4. Enable “Sync Contacts With” and select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  5. Sign in with the Google account or click “Configure” and select an existing account
  6. Click “Apply” to start the sync
  7. After the sync is complete, switch to the Android phone and sign in with the same account used in iTunes
  8. Allow the account to sync contacts with the Android device

Share iPhone Contacts from an iCloud Backup:

NOTE: If your iPhone contacts are backed up on your iCloud account, you can sign in with the account on a computer with Internet access, and export the contacts in a vCard file for Android use.

  1. Open the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Visit https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account and go to “Contacts”
  4. Select the contacts you want to share
  5. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  6. Wait for the vCard to be exported and perform one of the following steps:
    • Launch the Internet browser on the computer and import the vCard to “Google Contacts” or:
    • Connect the Android device to the computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage and import the vCard to the phonebook using “Contacts”

Using My Contacts Backup:

NOTE: While the two methods above require access to a computer connected to the Internet, alternatively you can share your iPhone contacts using third party apps. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can back up and share iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Visit the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on the iPhone
  2. Launch the app and tap “Backup” to create a vCard of your iPhone contacts
  3. Once done, tap “Email”
  4. Write a new email and make sure the vCard is attached
  5. Send the email and attachment to your own address
  6. Switch to the Android phone, open the email and download the vCard
  7. Import the vCard to your phonebook using “Contacts”

Using Send Anywhere:

NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party app you can use for contact transfer, available on Android and iOS. The app uses a peer-2-peer connection to share contacts and other file types, cross-platform, without requiring a computer.

  1. Visit the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
  2. Go to the Play Store and install the same app on the Android device
  3. Open the app on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
  5. Select the desired contact and tap “Send”
  6. Lastly, select a transfer method on one of the phones and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process
