Share iPhone Contacts Using iTunes:
NOTE: Using iTunes on a computer with Internet access you can sync your iPhone contacts with your Google account, and then sync the account data, including contacts, with an Android device.
- Connect the iPhone to the computer via USB
- Open iTunes and click the iPhone once connected
- Go to Info and enable Sync Contacts With
- Select Google Contacts from the drop-down menu
- Log in with your Google account or click Configure and select an existing account
- Click Apply to begin the sync
- Once the sync is complete, switch to the Android phone and sign in with the same Google account used in iTunes
- Allow the account to sync contacts with the Android deice
Share iPhone Contacts from iCloud Backup:
NOTE: If the contacts on your iPhone are already backed up on your iCloud account, you can log in to the account on a computer with Internet access and export the contacts in a vCard file for Android use.
- Open the Internet browser on the computer
- Visit https://www.icloud.com/
- Sign in with your iCloud account and go to Contacts
- Select the contacts you want to share and click Settings
- Click Export vCard to download the vCard
- Once done, perform one of the following:
- Launch the Internet browser on the computer and import the vCard to Google Contacts or:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage and import it to your phonebook using Contacts
Using My Contacts Backup:
NOTE: You can use third party apps to share your iPhone contacts without needing access to a computer. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can back up and share contacts via email.
- Go to the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on the iPhone
- Open the app and tap Backup
- Once the vCard backup file is done, tap Email
- Write a new email ensuring the vCard is attached. Send the email to your own address
- On the Android device, open the email and download the vCard attachment
- Import the vCards contents to your phonebook using Contacts
Using Send Anywhere:
NOTE: Send Anywhere is another third party app you can use for contact transfer, available on iOS and Android. The app uses a peer-2-peer connection to share contacts and other types of files, cross-platform, without requiring a PC.
- Visit the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
- Go to the Play Store and install the same app on the Android device
- Open the app on both smartphones
- On the sender device (iPhone) tap Send > Contacts
- Select the desired contacts and tap Send
- Lastly, choose a transfer method on one of the devices and follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
