Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Scroll to Personal
- Tap Backup & reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, Wi-Fi passwords and settings to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account or reinstall backed up applications
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open Settings
- Access Accounts
- Select an account type and the account you want to use for contact syncing
- Make sure Contacts is checked
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts can be restored the next time you log in with the backup account
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Copy the media files from the phone and transfer them to the desired backup location on the PC storage
- Once the transfer is complete, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB cord
Restore Media Files from a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable File Transfer / Media device when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media file backups on the PC storage
- Copy and transfer the backup files to the phone storage, preferably in the Media directory
- After the transfer is done, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
