Transfer iPhone Contacts Using iTunes:

NOTE: you can use iTunes on a computer with Internet access to sync the contacts on your iPhone with your Google account. You can then sync the account data, including contacts, with the Android device.

  1. Establish a USB connection between the iPhone and computer
  2. Launch iTunes on the computer
  3. In iTunes, click the iPhone and access “Info”
  4. Enable “Sync Contacts With” and select “Google Contacts” from the drop-down menu
  5. Sign in with your Google account or click “Configure” and select an existing account
  6. Click “Apply” to begin the sync
  7. Once the sync is complete, switch to the Android device and log in with the same Google account used in iTunes
  8. Set the account to sync contacts with the Android device

Share iPhone Contacts via iCloud Backup:

NOTE: If your iPhone contacts are backed up on your iCloud account, you can sign in with the account on a computer with Internet access and export the contacts in a vCard file for Android use.

  1. Launch the Internet browser on the computer
  2. Head down to https://www.icloud.com/
  3. Sign in with your iCloud account
  4. Access “Contacts”
  5. Select the contacts you want to share
  6. Click “Settings” > “Export vCard”
  7. After the vCard is done perform one of the following steps:
    • Open the Internet browser on the computer and import the vCard to Google Contacts, or:
    • Connect the Pixel 2 device to the computer via USB, transfer the vCard to the phone storage and import its contents to your phonebook via “Contacts”

Using My Contacts Backup:

NOTE: Although the two methods above require a computer connected to the Internet, alternatively you can share your iPhone contacts using third-party apps. My Contacts Backup is an iOS app that can back up and share iPhone contacts via email.

  1. Go to the App Store and install My Contacts Backup on the iPhone
  2. Open the app and tap “Backup” to create a vCard of your iPhone contacts
  3. Once the vCard is done, tap “Email”
  4. Compose a new email ensuring the vCard is attached
  5. Send the email and attachment to your own address
  6. Switch to the Android device, open the email and download the vCard attachment
  7. Use “Contacts” to import the vCard to your phonebook

Using Send Anywhere:

NOTE: Another third party app you can use is Send Anywhere, available on iOS and Android. The app uses a peer-2-peer connection to share contacts and other file types cross-platform without requiring a computer.

  1. Visit the App Store and install Send Anywhere on the iPhone
  2. Go to the Play Store and install the app on the Android device
  3. Launch the app on both smartphones
  4. On the iPhone, tap “Send” > “Contacts”
  5. Select the contacts you want to share
  6. Tap “Send” and select the desired transfer method on one of the devices
  7. Follow the on-screen steps to complete the process
