Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Personal
- Tap Backup & Reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, Wi-Fi passwords, and settings to be restored automatically the next time you sign in with the backup account or when reinstalling apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Open Settings
- Access Accounts
- Select an account type and the desired account to use for syncing
- Ensure the Contacts tick box is checked
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored the next time you sign in with the backup account or by manually syncing the account data, and contacts, with the Android device.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- After the process completes, eject the phone storage via system tray and safely disconnect the phone from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable Media device / File Transfer when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media backup files on the computer
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders from where they originate
- Once the transfer is done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the phone from the USB cord
