Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Personal
- Tap Backup & Reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be automatically restored the next time you log in with the backup account or reinstall apps
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch Contacts
- Access Accounts
- Select an account type and the desired account for syncing contacts
- Make sure the Contacts check box is ticked
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts can be automatically restored the next time you log in with your backup account or by manually syncing the account data and contacts with the phone.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- Enable Media device / File Transfer on the phone, when prompted or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the PC
- Copy and transfer the files to the desired backup location on the PC
- After the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Establish a USB connection between the PC and Android device
- On the phone, enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Launch the File Explorer on the Pc
- Locate the media file backups on the computer
- Copy and paste the files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
- Once the transfer completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
