Back Up & Restore App Data:
- Open Settings
- Go to Personal
- Tap Backup & Reset
- Enable Back up my data to back up app data, settings, and Wi-Fi passwords to your backup account
- Enable Automatic Restore to allow app data, settings, and passwords to be restored automatically the next time you reinstall apps or sign in with the backup account
Back Up & Restore Contacts:
- Launch Settings
- Go to Accounts
- Select an account type
- Tap the desired account and ensure the Contacts check box is ticked
- Tap Menu > Sync Now
NOTE: Contacts can be restored automatically the next time you log in with your backup account or by manually syncing the account data with the device.
Back Up Media Files on a Windows PC:
- Connect the Android phone to the computer via USB
- On the phone, enable File Transfer / Media device when prompted or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Locate the media files on the phone
- Copy and paste the files to the desired backup location on the computer
- After the process completes, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
Restore Media Files from a PC:
- Connect the Android device to the PC via USB
- On the phone, enable File Transfer / Media device at the prompt or from the Notification area
- Open the File Explorer on the computer
- Transfer the backup files to the phone storage, preferably in the folders of origin
- Once done, eject the phone storage and safely disconnect the device from the USB port
