Lower the Screen Brightness and Timeout Duration:
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- In the quick toggle area, drag the brightness slider towards the left
- Open Settings and access Display
- Optionally, turn Adaptive brightness ON or OFF
- For timeout options, tap Sleep and select a low value like 15 seconds
Enable Battery Saving Mode:
- Launch Settings
- Access Device
- Tap Battery
- Tap Menu and enable Battery saver
Disable Unused Connectivity Features:
NOTE: you can turn off the phones connectivity features when not actively in use, including Wi-Fi, Hotspot, Bluetooth, and GPS to avoid unnecessary network scans and potentially improve battery life in the long run.
- Swipe the Status bar down on the home screen
- Tap the Wi-Fi Location and Bluetooth quick toggles to turn the features Off
- Open Settings for more options
- Go to Location for GPS settings
- Tap Mode and enable Battery saving
- Return to Settings and expand Wireless & networks
- Turn Tethering & mobile hotspot OFF
Switch to 2G Networks Temporarily:
NOTE: If your device runs low on battery and you dont have quick access to a wall socket or battery bank, you can conserve energy until the next recharge by switching to 2G networks temporarily.
- Launch Settings
- Expand Wireless & Networks
- Access Mobile networks > Preferred network type
- Select 2G
Change Sync Settings:
NOTE: You can try improving battery life by reducing the amount of data synced by your apps and accounts.
- Launch Settings
- Access Accounts
- Select an account type and an account
- Change the available settings to reduce sync as desired
Minimize Third-Party App Usage:
NOTE: Some third-party apps can perform regular background processes and thus you can try and improve battery life in the long run by disabling or removing unused third-party apps from the phone.
- Open Settings
- Access Apps
- Switch to All apps or Downloaded
- Select the desired app and tap Force Stop or Disable
- Alternatively, tap Uninstall to remove the app
Keep the OS Up To Date:
NOTE: OS updates can improve battery life and its recommended to keep the OS up to date at all times.
- Launch Settings
- Go to About phone
- Tap System updates
- Check if new updates are available
- If applicable, follow the on-screen prompts to download and install the update(s)
